25W + 25W Stereo Tube Integrated Amplifier

Debut 2025 Spring

Introduction

Our latest integrated amplifier, design , voiced, and developed by our team in Switzerland (Finale Audio Europe) , producing  a very solid 25 watts per channel from a pair of EL34 valves operating in Class AB push-pull. It has the ability to drive many kind of speakers thanks to our high quality modern tube-circuit design and high end transformers made by Hashimoto (SANSUI) of Tokyo, Japan. We have a long debate rather we should wire the tubes in pentode mode for max power, or push pull triode for sweeter sound but much fewer power. At the end, we all comes down to design and wired/voice the amplifier in Ultra Linear mode, so it has both power of pentode mode and quality/details/sweetness of running push pull triode mode. And why would few EL34 amplifiers on the market runs in ultra linear mode? Because of cost! The output transformers will cost more and also more difficult to engineer with extra taps/wires in order to have ultra linear mode available. And note, half of the 25W are pure Class A - which means most of the music you listen to is in quality Class A, which also demands a high quality power transformer. Again, look - these high end Japanese audio transformers are known to be the best and the most reliable / durable , and many of the old Sansui amplifiers are still working fine and sound after 50+ of years in service. Don’t let the simple design of the Symphonia fools you - we don’t waste money on useless features and packaging, we know what and where to put the money into to make it as the best amplifier. So rest assure there is nothing holding back us from getting the best possible sound for our customers.

Further into the design - like every single design from us, each circuit are nothing from the past with narrow bandwidth , manual bias , high distortions and boring playback. Ours is digital age sources ready , wide bandwidth , quiet / low noise , autobias (change tubes every few years) , low distortions , good dynamics / lively / high definitions, and most importantly - we makes some of the most reliable tube amps and something that last for decades and generations. Which is important - as fewer and fewer tube tech’s is out there for help whenever you needed help on a tube machine. We said this 20 years ago and we will say this again, that almost all designs should be autobias by Y2K. And now, another 2 decades have past, almost everything should be autobias / automatic , few maintenance / reliable , and user friendly (with minimal effort to hook up and use the actual amplifier to enjoy high quality music playback).

Another reasons why we want to run ultra linear despite much higher cost - is we can then adapt using a tube rectifier stage. This is again, most other EL34 amps on the market misses due to cost (and space to be honest, as it is very hard to find another spot to fit one extra tube - it can’t be placed anywhere, it has to be at the power supply area because of high tension/voltage - it’s not idea to located close to the inputs / low signal areas or interference/hum could be induced) , and we truly believes that tube rectifications enhance the overall sound, but at a cost (production). Here, we went even further - we uses our latest hybrid tube rectifier stage that seen used on our higher end models for the rectifier tube’s stability and durability - not that we want to spend more money and waste more labour, but the new production 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier tubes are so unreliable or always came weak to the point creating troubles on the operations on all kinds of amplifiers regardless brands. So we have to make sure this will not become the weak spot, especially now we are at more than 24 years since Y2K, we should have even higher dependable reliability than all previous tube designs. So as long the rectifier tube lite up and has more than half life, the hybrid rectifier stage will auto assist it’s operations. As for the front end design - it is as used on the Sesto Elemento , in short, it’s one of our favorite Class A Push Pull front end design. In terms of sound - it just can’t be wrong. There is a myth that more preamp tubes is good - yes and no, the best to us is not too much. It’s a play of balance between sound and performance.

Last but not least, all passive parts including resistors and ecaps are authentic, high quality brand name sources from the North American distributors. All parts we selected/use for a reason, most have many decades of use of excellence and reliability. For voicing, we always been with Mundorf from Germany, it’s also a reliable choice and with good track of measurements. For uses, 3 pairs of high quality gold plated RCA inputs is available by CMC (USA). The gold plated and insulated 5 ways speaker binding posts are also made by CMC (USA). For power connecting, our amps been partnered and delivered via it’s AC Inlet made by HIFI cables and power expert from Japan, Furutech. For input selection, it’s handled by Lorlin UK Selector Switch. For volume attenuation, it’s voiced with our all time favourite Alps Japan Blue Pot. Being the last fortress of analog audio and tube amp designs. We want to make the Symphonia and Philharmonic (the power amplifier version) to last , and deliver the best possible sound to the home audience.
